wow.

it's been one whole week of living here in henley hall, and it is so different than anything i had ever imagined. my roomates are really cool, but their punctuality, neatness, and bedtimes tend to make me feel like a huge slob who is always late, takes too long to get ready, and stays up all night. i've met a few people that i hope i will become really good friends with, and then there's a few friends i've already become really good friends with. the feeling that you get when you feel like you can be YOURSELF fully 100% is such a great feeling, especially this freakishly early in the game. orientation was excruciatingly tiring and long, but fun nonetheless. i heard the cheers of peppy OA's all week, from BOOM! SHAKE YOUR RUMPUS to WE. ARE. FREAKIN OUT. WE-ARE-FREAKIN-OUT, everytime i came into their presence. i know everyone i talked to was sick of the incessant introductions, and meeting people that you doubted that you would ever see again during the year..nonstop phone calls and text messages have been giving me an early case of carpal tunnel, trying to locate the few friends i have on campus so i wasn't a loner freshman. when shanell came over, it was the perfect solution to my homesickness, and a trip to the gregg residence was just what the doctor ordered. i think i can rest easy next year at home knowing i relished in the dorm experience, had a bit of the nightlife, and had the freedom to wake up, sleep in, and do whatever the heck i wanted at any time. all of these new experiences have been wholly tiring, so this labor day weekend, i seriously cannot wait to curl up in my hawaiian sheets at home and just SLEEP..and watch as much tv as i want into the night without worrying about how i'm interrupting the sleep of my roomates.
