day one of no facebook

i've taken it upon myself to start creating new hobbies for myself, and the first one fell into my lap today while watching tv. my new fave food network show came on- barefoot contessa- and i can't HELP but to be mesmerized by just the sheer aesthetic quality of that show. what she lacks in paula deen's southern charm, electric blue eyes, and the 2 adorable man-children she has as sons, ina garten brings a cheery smile, gorgeous house, and reassuring statements...

"this blue cheese burger will be the...LIFE of the party"

and you know what? i believe her. after all, who wouldn't believe that the woman with gaggles of friends constantly visiting her sprawling estate in west hampton knows how to entertain?! not me.

so my newfound interest in the food network has had me craving some delicious barefoot contessa delights, so perhaps i'll cook one or two someday- not a whole book like julie from julie & julia....my life is not in ruins...i just don't have facebook.
